Galapagos: A Journey Back in Time

I couldn't help feeling a bit like Charles Darwin as I boarded the Endeavor.

One day I saw a ship on the cover of the National Geographic magazine - it looked right out of a movie. I had to know where it was headed. The Galapagos Islands. Origin of the Species influencer islands. I learned that wildlife didn't fear us there. I learned what endemic meant - exists no where else. Wow.

I made a decision - I had to experience that kind of environment and see how wildlife, if respected, could be accessible.

In 2015 I booked passage on the National Geographic Endeavor and journeyed to four islands in the Galapagos archipelago. The ship only had one hundred passengers, our staterooms were comfortable, and the crew were incredibly gifted at providing geologic, geographic, wildlife, and plant life education in easily consumable amounts. I learned so much in just over a week that I can truly say - they changed how I looked at the world.
